Foreclosure Vandalism on the Rise
It’s an absolute shame. As if devaluing Las Vegas neighborhoods through foreclosure wasn’t enough, uncaring and vicious homeowners are adding insult to injury by tearing up & defacing their foreclosed homes, further devaluing the property. You won’t believe your eyes when you see one Las Vegas man ravaging his home and disemboweling it – spewing its innards into a heaping pile of garbage in the backyard. Are we to believe that these “innocent” homeowners were victims of the housing bubble? It looks to me like they never should have been homeowners in the first place. Amanda, you are absolutely right…it is sad. I do not know the exact particulars of how this man fell into foreclosure – Maybe he bought too much home for his income, maybe his ARM adjusted upwards, or perhaps family tragedy decreased his monthly income. I really do not know. Yet, under any circumstance…is it ever right to deface property such as this? Truly sad indeed.

It’s not right to judge him for his actions. Maybe he tried and got denied for a modification like these banks are doing to so many people. No, it isn’t right to deface property to his extent but to say he should never have been a homeowner, based on his actions, is wrong. Sometimes you try and try and try to save your home but to no avail. I’ve seen if happen to so many people. I actually feel sorry for him.
